Anarkoflamenco is the artistic stamp with which Bernardo de Barros "Maluk" has signed some of his work since the year 2000. Basically proposes the mixture of musical and choreographic languages having rhythmic structures of the flamenco art as starting point to, on one hand, achieve new musical dialogues with the Jazz, Hip Hop and classical music and on the other, proposing choreographic talks between jazz, contemporary and flamenco dances.
Maluk is a dancer, choreographer, music composer and cultural producer from Brazil, awarded at age 19 with the prize as best dancer, best choreographer and soloist dancer at the IV Festival of dances of the Mercosur. Started his professional career at the age of 16 and today after 28 years of career carries in his biography countless works highlighting his membership in the band Ojos de Brujo, Grammy to the best flamenco album in 2002 and BBC Award for the best European band in 2001. In 2012 he has premiered the show “Broken Boots” in Barcelona which has garnered critical acclaim. After a traumatic divorce process at the beginning of 2013, he has moved away partially from the entertainment industry, residing in Basel from 2015 to 2017 where he has established a new group. After 3 years out of stage, from 2017 up to 2020, now he is back with the ANARKOFLAMENCO Project.
The anarkoflamenco has been characterized by the integration of musicians and dancers in mixed projects where music and dance come together resulting in an unique visual and sound experience. We could say that their universe is closer to Free Jazz then to other disciplines but to find an existing tag to their music and proposals is insufficient. Anarkoflamenco presents Anarkoflamenco. You have to experience it to conceptualize it.
